Brunswick Centre
United Kingdom / England
Location ID: #999-6013
This impressive Grade II listed estate is located in the centre of Bloomsbury, Camden. It was built between 1965 and 1973 by Patrick Hodgkins, who designed it as a low-rise, high-density, alternative to tower blocks. Today, the estate is an inner-city neighbourhood integrating housing, shops, a medical centre, cinema and office space in one single development. The two parallel housing blocks are separated by a bustling internal shopping plaza. The New Brutalist architecture would make this location ideal for a sci-fi shoot, with its huge concrete frames, elevated walkways and stepped ranks of apartments with curious angled windows. The closest transport link is Russell Square Underground.
